Intuit for Education Privacy Statement
Welcome to Intuit for Education (the “Service”) a web-based solution dedicated to personal financial literacy for educational curriculums!
Intuit Inc. (“Intuit,” “we,” “us” or “our”) makes educational tools and resources focused on personal and financial literacy available to educational and institutional customers, e.g., high schools and institutions of education (each, an “Enterprise Customer”) and the students, teachers, and administrative users authorized by such Enterprise Customers (each, an “Enterprise User”). Intuit for Education is also available directly to individuals who are age thirteen (13) or older and access Intuit for Education on their own (each, a “Public User”). Enterprise Users and Public Users are collectively referred to herein as the “Users,” “you” or “yours”.
At Intuit, we are committed to safeguarding your privacy and protecting your Personal Information. This Intuit for Education Privacy Statement describes how we collect, use, store, and protect the information we collect from or about you or others as a result of using the Service. The collection and use of Personal Information will be processed in accordance with this Privacy Statement.

In order to use the Intuit for Education platform you must enter some personal information (“Personal Information”) in order to create a User account. The information that we collect includes: first and last name, username and password. If you choose not to provide this information, you may not be able to access all features of the Service. In addition to the information that is provided during registration, if you are an Enterprise User in a school that has an agreement with Intuit, the school may provide Intuit other personal information to facilitate your account registration. Personal Information disclosed to us by Enterprise Customers is collected and processed in compliance with the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act, 20 U.S.C. 1232g, and its implementing regulations ("FERPA") as well as other applicable state or local laws. As such, Intuit will be considered a “School Official” and will collect, use, store and protect personal information consistent with these laws.
a. Personal Information: We may collect your first and last name, username and password which are necessary for administrative, academic, and communication purposes.
b. Usage Data is collected automatically when using the Service. This data may include your device’s Internet Protocol address (i.e., IP address), browser type, browser version, the pages of our Service that you visit, the time and date of your visit, the time spent on those pages, unique device identifiers and other diagnostic data.
c. Cookies: We use Cookies and similar tracking technologies to track the activity on our Service and to store certain information. For more information about the cookies we use and your choices regarding cookies, please click on the Cookie link on the Intuit for Education sign in page and visit our Cookies Policy at the following link: https://security.intuit.com/intuit-cookie-policy.
We collect your information to facilitate account creation and enrollment, provide educational and platform services, to communicate with Users, maintain and improve the Service, and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
Your information may be used for academic purposes, communication, research, statistical analysis, performance metrics as well as the following:
a. To provide and maintain our Service, including to monitor the usage of our Service.
b. To manage your account registration as a User of the Service.
c. For the performance of a contract if the User is using the Services as an Enterprise User.
d. To contact you, by email, or other equivalent forms of electronic communication, such as a platform application's push notifications regarding updates or informative communications related to the Service functionalities, contracted services, including the security updates, when necessary or reasonable for their implementation.
e. We may use limited Personal Information to market and promote Intuit for Education or related Intuit products and services.
f. For other purposes. We may use your information for other purposes, such as data analysis, identifying usage trends, and to evaluate and improve our Service and your experience.
g. To interact with other platform Users. If you share your Personal Information or otherwise interact with other users, such information may be viewed by those Users with whom you share it.
h. To detect, prevent and remediate fraud or other security incidents related to a User or the Service.
In classroom and collaborative online settings, your name might be visible to other students, instructors, and course administrators to facilitate academic interactions, submissions/discussions of assignments, and to collaborate on projects. Please contact your school to determine if your Personal Information will be accessible and available for this use.
a. Enterprise Users who are educators or administrators may also choose to participate in the Intuit for Education Community Forums (“Communities”) to allow them to share feedback and other valuable resources and information with other educators and administrators. Intuit reminds these Enterprise Users to comply with their individual school protocols and guidelines regarding sharing student Personal Information and any other proprietary or confidential information with other members of these Communities. Intuit is not responsible for, nor will it moderate the Communities for the purposes of reviewing/removing Personal Information and/or other proprietary or confidential information.
b. Content and User Generated Content Management
Intuit has no obligation to monitor postings or other materials in the Communities. Postings from Users are not an indication of any Intuit sponsorship or endorsements and may not be postings or responses from Intuit or its authorized moderators. Please report objectionable content posted to the Communities be sending an email to education@intuit.com
Users may include hypertext links in postings that connect to content hosted and maintained by third parties, so long as posting such content if posted in the Communities, would not violate these terms or the terms of the third-party site. Intuit exercises no control whatsoever over such third-party websites and web-based resources and is not responsible or liable for the availability thereof or the content, advertising, products or other materials thereon.
Clicking on links to such sites is done so at the User's own risk. Intuit reserves the right to review any postings and to remove or refuse to remove or post any postings in its sole discretion. Intuit does not endorse or guarantee the accuracy of any posting on these Communities.
We take data security seriously. Your information is stored securely on our systems, protected by appropriate technical and organizational measures to prevent unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. In some cases, we may use third-party service providers to support the functionality and maintenance of the Service. These service providers will have access to your Personal Information only to the extent necessary to deliver their services and are bound by strict confidentiality agreements. Intuit maintains a vendor due diligence program which includes screening and contractual obligations that ensure these service providers meet our standards for the data processing activities for which they are engaged.
You have the right to access, correct, update, or delete your personal information. If you are an Enterprise User, please contact your teacher or school to assist with your inquiry.
By creating an account and continuing to use the Service, you consent to the collection, use, and sharing of your Personal Information as outlined in this Statement. You also consent to receiving communications as outlined in the Terms of Service.
We may update this Privacy Statement from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. If we make material changes to how we process your Personal Information, we will communicate it to you through appropriate channels.
