We are also proud to have our efforts recognized by the US Government, receiving The Secretary of Defense Employer Support Freedom Award, the highest recognition given by the U.S. Government to employers for their support of their employees who serve in the National Guard and Reserve.
Our Products and Services Help Military Members & Their Families
In 2012, TurboTax was one of the first online tax preparation products to add personalized guidance for military members and families. The experience was created by active, reserve, and retired military personnel and military spouses to address the specific challenges that come with being a military tax filer. This includes state of residency, filing in multiple states, combat pay, basic allowance for subsistence, basic allowance for housing, deductions for uniforms, relocation, permanent change of station, and special provisions for the earned income tax credit.
TurboTax provides free federal and state tax preparation for service members in ranks E-1 to E-5 through TurboTax Free Edition and TurboTax Deluxe and a $5 off discount or more on all TurboTax Federal products for service members E-6 and above.
Supporting our Veteran Community
In partnership with non-profit military organizations, the Intuit employee Military Network hosts quarterly events for employees to help veterans bridge the gap from military to private sector careers. This year, we partnered with non-profit organizations including The Honor Foundation and VetsinTech.
- VetsinTech: Intuit’s San Diego site hosted VetsinTech, a non-profit organization made up of leaders from other local San Diego companies. The event included a leadership panel to help transitioning military learn about the technology industry and provided tips on resume writing and how to relate military skill sets to corporate careers.
- The Honor Foundation: Intuit and The Honor Foundation hosted a panel of Special Operations and Navy SEALs to share advice on how military skillsets translate to corporate leadership skills, helping employees to grow and develop
