Intuit shared today that Matt Idema will step into the role of Senior Vice President, Mailchimp.
Matt comes to Intuit with a strong understanding of how businesses use marketing tools to grow their customers, making him uniquely familiar with the challenges small and mid-market businesses face. His background dovetails perfectly with the vision Intuit shared when it acquired Mailchimp in 2021, which is to be the center of small business growth and help small businesses with their pressing need to get, grow and manage customers as part of a single, connected, end-to-end platform.
Matt brings extensive experience leading product, operations, go-to-market, and strategy teams in senior level roles, including at Meta where he was responsible for building the foundation of the Ads business across Facebook and Instagram, with a focus on products for small businesses. He served as the Chief Operating Officer of WhatsApp, where he initiated WhatsApp for business, focused on SMBs. His success connecting consumers and businesses led to tens of millions of businesses using Meta products and billions of dollars in revenue growth during his tenure. Most recently, he was President and COO of Aurora Solar.
As the new leader for Mailchimp, Matt will report to Marianna Tessel, General Manager and Executive Vice President of Intuit’s Global Business Solutions Group. He will further Intuit’s vision of delivering a connected, end-to-end platform that businesses around the world can rely on every day to run and grow, while continuing to deliver a world-class experience and value from our Mailchimp product.
Matt will take over from Rania Succar, a nine-year Intuit veteran, who served as SVP of QuickBooks Money, growing our payment, bill pay and capital products, before taking on leadership of the Mailchimp team. In the past two years as head of Mailchimp she has strengthened the core Mailchimp offering including, bringing AI and SMS capabilities to the product to speed workflows and expand marketing channels for Mailchimp customers. She also shepherded further international expansion, and led the initial integration of Mailchimp as part of our platform vision, setting the stage for the next phase of growth, which Matt will drive.
These are exciting times in which we are significantly improving the odds of success for businesses and fueling their growth. Through Intuit’s AI-driven expert platform, we’re combining purchase and customer data from QuickBooks and Mailchimp with the benefits of AI powered human expertise to deliver powerful analytics and actionable insights for our customers.
