Residency Art Gallery

A must-visit spot is the Residency Art Gallery. This Black-owned commercial gallery champions the works of contemporary artists of color. 

Founded in 2016, Residency’s goal is to serve historic South Central Los Angeles by showcasing exhibitions and projects from the community. It also regularly hosts discussions in the space, bringing together artists, activists, and the community. The gallery’s welcoming atmosphere serves as a stark counterpoint to the sometimes intimidating world of traditional art spaces. 

Its exhibitions rotate throughout the year, so there’s always something fresh to discover. Beyond the main gallery space, Residency boasts a Project Space that spotlights the works of emerging local artists and nonprofit organizations, making it a truly unique art gallery in Inglewood.

The Creative House Gallery

This unique nonprofit space transcends the boundaries of a typical gallery, serving as a vibrant hub for artistic exploration and community engagement.

Also founded in 2016, The Creative House Gallery champions artistic expression for all, regardless of age, ethnicity, or economic status. It curates diverse exhibitions featuring established and emerging local artists, aiming to ignite creativity and dialogue. 

Beyond the stunning artwork displayed on its walls, The Creative House offers a wide range of workshops, seminars, and events. 

Inglewood Open Studios

Inglewood Open Studios (IOS) is an organization by artists for artists. While it doesn’t have a brick-and-mortar studio or exhibit, IOS launches many events and programs in support of its core mission of creating a vibrant and inclusive arts community. Its most notable event is the IOS Annual Inglewood Art Walk, but the organization promotes many other events throughout the year on its website.

This festive weekend event, usually held once a year in November, transforms Inglewood into a giant art walk. Studios fling open their doors, welcoming visitors to explore the creative spaces of local artists. It’s a unique opportunity to witness artistic magic firsthand and connect with the passionate individuals who bring it to life.

Come August 2024, a visit to Intuit Dome for is an opportunity to check out the city’s culture and arts scene. Celebrating the spirit of community and accessibility, public artworks at Intuit Dome include murals, sculptures, digital art installations, and more from LA-area artists Refik Anadol, Glenn Kaino, Patrick Martinez, Michael Massenburg, Kyungmi Shin, and Jennifer Steinkamp.
