Delivering ‘Done-for-You’ Agentic AI Experiences: Cash Flow Management in Production at Scale for Millions of Business Owners

Keeping income and expenses balanced from week to week is a common small business challenge

For many years, Intuit has empowered millions of small business owners with a clear understanding of their cash flow by incorporating future money-in-and-out events, such as upcoming invoices and recurring expenses. Intuit also provides an AI-driven cash flow outlook and recommendations, such as sending invoice reminders on overdue invoices, adding late fees to customers who take a long time to pay, and tapping into a line of credit for which they are pre-approved.

Now, we’re taking cash flow management to the next level with agentic AI “done-for-you” experiences in production on Intuit’s platform. Agentic AI workflows are now doing the hard work on behalf of customers by dynamically processing accounts receivable and accounts payable invoices with Intuit QuickBooks Online. This is complemented by personalized AI-driven insights and recommendations, and a seamless path to AI-powered human tax and bookkeeping experts whenever needed.

Intuit’s specialized AI workflows process relevant business artifacts, such as user-submitted images of hand-written notes from client meetings, documents, and emails, and then orchestrating any necessary accounts receivable and accounts payable-specific follow up actions like creating invoices, bills and invoice reminders for review.  Agentic AI workflows  complete portions of the customer’s workflow with precision and efficiency, while preserving customer control for decision-making.

For example, when an invoice reminder is created for customer review, they’ll see a simple display with highlighted excerpts—from relevant documents and key insights from past history—to understand why the agent selected the particular voice and tone for the reminder message. Making it easy for them to approve the reminder before it’s sent on their behalf.

This agentic AI capability is generally available to QuickBooks Online customers where users are getting paid an average of 5 days faster when they send invoice reminders with Intuit Assist. Overdue invoices are 10% more likely to be paid in full, as it detects past due invoices and automatically drafts personalized invoice reminders. These personalized messages are generated based on the client history and invoice status, to ensure the reminder has the right tone based on each situation, allowing the business owner to simply review, send, and get paid.

By automating routine administrative tasks on Intuit’s platform business owners can redirect their time and energy to what truly matters: growing their business and driving long-term success.

Intuit QuickBooks customer Kim Cross, owner of Zhi Bath & Body says it best: “I got into business because I wanted to help people with sensitive skin get access to the products that would help them love their skin naturally,” she said. “But I found that I was spending the majority of my time doing manual, administrative tasks that didn’t allow me to do what I got in business to do: help people, develop new products, and find new ways to grow.”

For more than a decade, Intuit’s robust data and AI capabilities have been foundational to the company’s success as a fintech industry leader and technology innovator. Intuit’s agentic AI experiences are powered by our proprietary generative AI operating system, GenOS.
